Echo Canyon - Zion National Park UtahZion National Park image taken in one of the narrower portions of Echo Canyon, which is part of the hike to Observation Point This hike provides breathtaking views of much of the valley as well as overlooking the famous Angels Landing. The color and texture detail in this print really provide the 'feel' of walking through the canon - you can almost hear the water dripping and your footsteps echoing off the canyon walls.
desert spotlight - St. George UtahBeautiful Utah sunset lights desert butte with bright orange and red color under a mass of blue, pink and purple clouds overhead. I arrived at the airport in St. George Utah to pick up someone just as the sun began to set. I saw this scene along the access road, and thankfully had my camera with me. The light lasted less than five minutes before it faded, but I was glad to have been there to experience such an amazing end to the day.

Wagons like this one were used to transport Borax mined in Death Valley at the Harmony Borax Works overland to Mojave California - the location of the closest railroad in the 1880's. This early morning image highlights both the borax wagon on display as well as the harsh environment of the location. Extreme temperatures and lack of water were only two of the hardships endured by the men and animals working the mines. Harmony was in operation in Death Valley from 1883 to 1889.
