I love getting out early to photograph in Ann Arbor. The 'blue hour' is my favorite time to shoot city scapes as there are fewer people and cars moving about, and the pre-dawn light enables me to emphasize the color and texture of the architecture and neon lights. This image features a view of Main Street looking south from Liberty Street toward the the First National Bank building, the large building in the background. The Pretzel Bell restaurant as well as other downtown shops are visible in the image as well. Located near University of Michigan campus, this area of town is home to many local favorite shops and restaurants.
