We decided to take one last trek in Rocky Mountain National Park the morning of the day we were leaving for home, We chose the short hike to Bierstadt Lake because it fit our timeframe perfectly. When we awoke the next morning, we were surprised to find it had snowed overnight (this was September), and there was about four inches of light, fluffy snow covering everything. Not to be deterred, we drove to the trailhead, put on our packs and started out. It was grey and overcast when we left, but soon the clouds gave way to a classic sunny, blue sky Colorado morning. The views were amazing as you can see - the snow gave the landscape a completely different look than we had experienced the previous four days. I have three or four photographs available on Etsy from this amazing morning hike. As beautiful as they look, believe me when I say they (as with many landscape images) do not do the day/view/experience justice.
